First of all, your website needs to tell the customer what they need to know about your business. Aside from the obvious details such as your phone number and address, the customer is probably visiting your website because they wanted to find information about your products and services. Most sites feature an "About Us" page which has a few paragraphs telling the visitor how long you have been in business, the size of your company, possibly some customer testimonials and more. You will also want to have a few pages featuring details of your products and services.
Research shows that most people stay on any given website for less than 60 seconds. This means you have between 1 and 59 seconds to make a good first impression. Your homepage itself needs to convey specifically what your site is about and what you sell or provide. It also needs to be easy to scan with the eye and find more information about anything featured on the homepage. This is why it is important to use short, decisive statements and paragraphs.
If you already have a company leaflet, catalog or brochure, these are often a very good starting point. We would normally use a lot of the content in these media but in a more condensed ("snappy") format. Naturally, all content is approved by you before we actually publish the site. If you do not have any form of media publication already, we will work with you to create good conversational prose for your site. Sometimes, only a little text is even necessary if your company or products can be equally well represented by using visuals and text headings.
Regardless of your company or the products or services you offer, content is very important to your site, as is the method of presentation. We will work closely with you and our design team to ensure that you are completely satisfied with how your new website represents your company.
